Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Law365 is a subscription software service. Nothing is shipped and there is nothing to return, so the short version of this policy is this: a subscription you have bought is not refundable, and a payment that should never have been taken is refunded in full. It applies to every payment made on law365.app, on my.law365.app, and in the Law365 Android app.
Try it before you pay. We would rather you did.
There is a 10-day free trial, with Scholar's study tools and Counsel's practice tools open together, once per account, with no card. Nothing is charged when it ends; it simply stops. It exists so that the decision to pay is made after using the product rather than before, and because this policy has no money-back window, it is the part of this page we most want you to use.
After the trial, the smallest thing you have to buy is 10 days of the cheapest plan, at ₹75 plus GST. So the most anyone can be out of pocket on a plan that turns out not to suit them is that one figure, and the next charge is one you choose to make.
Cancelling a subscription
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Plan, without contacting us and without giving a reason.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. The plan keeps running to the end of the term you have already paid for, and nothing is taken away early.
- At the end of that term the subscription ends. Your matters, documents and drafts stay in the account and can be exported; what stops is the ability to add more.
- A cancellation is not a refund request. The term already paid for is not refunded, because it runs its full length and stays usable until it does.
Subscriptions are not refundable
No plan on any term — 10days, a month, or longer — carries a money-back period. Once a term is active it is not refunded, in whole or in part, including:
- A term you decide against part way through, or did not use as much as you expected. Cancel it and it will not renew.
- A renewal you meant to cancel and did not. Every renewal is announced by email before it is taken, and cancelling before the renewal date is how it is avoided.
- A change of plan. Moving between plans takes effect from the change; the part of the old term already run is not paid back.
- Seats added to a firm plan. They are priced for the days left in the term and are not returned if the person leaves.
- Aadhaar e-signatures you have paid for. A signature is ₹35 including GST, paid when you send the contract, because a licensed e-sign provider charges us for every one. If a signing is withdrawn, declined or runs out, that signature is not refunded in money. It stays on your workspace and your next Aadhaar send uses it.
- Amounts already paid to a third party on your instruction. Court-record and filing charges passed through at cost. These are spent the moment you use them and cannot be recovered from us.
- An account closed for breach of the Terms & Conditions.
When a payment is refunded
A refund is for a charge that was wrong, not for a decision that changed. In each of these cases the refund is made in full and you do not have to argue for it:
- You were charged twice for the same term, or the same order went through more than once. We refund the duplicate.
- Money was debited and no plan activated. Usually this is a payment the gateway did not complete, and the bank reverses it on its own within a few working days without anyone asking. If it has not reversed and the plan is not active, write to us: we either activate the plan or refund the payment, whichever you prefer.
- You were charged after cancelling, or charged for a term you had already paid for.
- The charge was not made by you. We investigate with the payment gateway and, where the charge is confirmed unauthorised, refund it.
- We charged the wrong amount, or billed a plan or a seat count you did not buy.
- A fault on our side made the plan unusable for a meaningful stretch of a paid term and we could not put it right. We refund that part of the term.
Tell us as soon as you notice. A refund is sent back through the payment gateway, and a gateway can only reverse a payment for a limited period after it was taken, so a charge reported months later may have to be settled some other way.
Nothing on this page limits a right you have under Indian law. If the law says a refund is due, the law wins over this policy.
Bought inside the Android app?
A subscription bought through Google Play is charged by Google, not by us, and only Google can refund it. Ask for it through Google Play’s own refund process, or from your subscriptions in the Play Store. Cancelling there also stops the renewal. Everything else on this page is about payments taken on our own website.
How to report a wrong charge
Write to support@law365.app from the email address the account is registered under, with:
- the invoice number, or the payment reference from your bank or card statement,
- the date and amount of the payment, and
- one line on what went wrong.
We acknowledge within 2 working days and give a decision within 5 working days of receiving those details. If we decline, we say why.
How a refund reaches you
- An approved refund is sent back to the same payment method it came from, through the payment gateway. We cannot send it to a different card, a different account, or as cash or credit.
- We initiate it within 3 working days of approval. It then takes 5 to 7 working days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer. That part is not in our hands.
- GST charged on a refunded amount is refunded with it, and a credit note is issued against the original tax invoice.
- Refunds are made in Indian Rupees. Any bank or currency-conversion charge levied by your own bank is not ours to return.
Please write to us before raising a chargeback
A chargeback with your bank freezes the account while it is investigated, and usually takes longer than a refund from us would. Give us the 5 working days above first.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. The version in force for a payment is the version published on the day that payment was made, and the date at the top of this page says when it last changed.
